Technician Assistant: Do you love animals and love their people? Are you interested in veterinary medicine or science related fields? Do you desire to become part of a highly skilled medical team? College Village Animal Clinic is hiring a full time veterinary technician assistant. We are looking for dependable, professional and caring team members who can multi-task and take pride in the work they do. The right applicant must be able to work as a team member and as an individual, must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds, follow written and verbal directions, use cleaning products safely and love to clean!

This position is entry level and requires an enthusiastic self-motivated individual who doesn't mind getting their hands dirty and can demonstrate an above average attention to detail. It would be ideal for a person wishing to get their foot in the door in veterinary medicine. If you have a flexible schedule and have an interest in veterinary medicine or any other medical field, this position would provide considerable exposure to the daily activities of a small animal hospital.

The Veterinary Assistant position is responsible for assisting the technicians and doctors with daily care of our patients.

Responsibilities include:

General cleaning and organizing of the clinic

Handling and restraint of patients

Preparing laboratory samples

Assist technicians with pre- and post-operative care of patients

Preparing and sterilizing surgery packs

Stocking pharmacy, lab procedures, cleaning of treatment and surgical areas

Perform laboratory tests in house and prepare samples to send out to the lab

Follow all written and verbally communicated departmental standard operating procedures

Able to respond appropriately during an emergency, able to take directions from a veterinarian or technician.

This is a long term position with possibility to advance for the right person. We offer a competitive salary DOE with benefits. Clinic operates Monday to Friday between 7:30am and 7:00pm with varying schedules and with alternating Saturdays between 9:00am and 5:00pm.
