Senior Mechanical EngineerTracking Code4445-987Job DescriptionCOLSA Corporation is seeking candidates for a Mechanical Engineer in support of an UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) program!Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential functions)
Responsible for the design, development, and modification of complicated and difficult mechanical devices and/or systems
Responsible for planning and conducting assigned technical projects or phases of projects
Responsible for documenting the results of mechanical design elements on assigned projects
May provide work leadership for lower level employees
May evaluate supplier capabilities as needed

Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience. Master's degree preferred
Minimum of eight years related experience
Working knowledge of desktop applications including word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs
Valid DoD clearance required
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Rapid Prototyping
Experience with UAVs and/or aviation systems
Experience in resolving technical issues with quality, safety, configuration management, survivability, test & evaluation, airworthiness, reliability-availability-maintainability, and technical risk management.
