Senior-Level PNT Engineer

(nSI) enables our customers by supplying products, services, and expertise with powerful, data driven insights that transform defense systems and improve capabilities.We are pleased to announce the opening for a Senior-Level Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) Engineer, who will join our PNT Team in Huntsville, Alabama and become part of our rapidly growing technology company operating in missile defense, cybersecurity, test range modernization, biotechnology, and space control marketspaces. You will be part of a team known for performing innovative PNT-related research as well as accelerating the development of PNT prototypes through simulation and testing.Responsibilities:

You will be the technical lead for the US Army’s Space and Missile Defense Command’s PNT Resiliency laboratory, which models, develops, and assesses innovative PNT technologies in realistic environments.

You will plan, conduct, and technically direct projects or major phases of significant projects, coordinating and reviewing the efforts of technical support personnel in the performance of assigned projects.

You will conduct investigations and tests of considerable complexity, recommend corrections in technical applications and analysis, evaluate vendor capabilities to provide required products or services, and provide technical consultation to leadership.

You will identify and recommend new projects in promising research areas to accomplish the customer’s goals.

You will plan and direct the procurement, maintenance and cyber hardening of laboratory equipment and infrastructure as needed to meet the customer’s current and future goals.

You will participate in over-the-air events at test ranges like White Sands Missile Range in support of equipment testing and data collection related to customer projects.

You will interface with nou Systems, prime contractor, and government leadership, including providing regular updates on the schedule and budget status of nSI laboratory work.

You will conduct business development for nou Systems in PNT-related fields including idea generation and the writing of proposals in pursuit of new PNT work.

Basic Qualifications:

You must have a Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field.

You will need 8 years of full-time professional experience in a STEM field.

You must possess or can obtain an active Secret clearance.

You must be a U.S. citizen to be eligible for this position.

Lacking any one of these disqualifies you from this job.Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in an engineering field.

12 years of professional experience in a STEM field.

Proven experience leading engineering teams in performing test, evaluation, simulation, and analysis activities related to RF systems.

Experience designing and performing test and evaluation with PNT and GPS systems.

Experience performing engineering test and analysis with Python tools.

Experience with RF test equipment including spectrum analyzers and software defined radios.

Experience implementing software interfaces to hardware to enable communication and automation of test equipment.

Experience designing and conducting experiments using radio frequency devices and instrumentation.

Experience with creating custom I/Q waveform files and analyzing recorded I/Q waveform files.

Experience implementing and evaluating machine learning models, such as convolutional neural networks, for performing classification tasks.

Familiarity with Army cyber security accreditation processes.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.
