Saz’s Catering is looking for an Executive Sous Chef to oversee our state-of-the-art kitchen in Walker’s Point.

Our Executive Sous Chef will collaborate with the Corporate Chef, Executive Chef as well as catering managers to create delicious new menu items, manage inventory, place daily orders, manage prep lists and team task assignments, and work hand-in-hand with the culinary team when needed. Communication with management and the kitchen team is a must to be successful.

No two days will be the same, but the list below offers a general idea of our Executive Sous Chef's responsibilities:

-Use sales forecast, par levels and product inventory to generate daily prep lists

-Collaborate with Corporate Chef and Executive Chef to develop and enforce kitchen set up procedures and expectations

-Facilitate receipt, storage, and stock rotation of all product orders

-Ensure all health department regulations and HACCP procedures are followed

-Cross train all team members to ensure adequate staffing levels and foster teamwork

-Work with culinary teams at other SHG properties to develop consistent ordering, recipe, sanitation, and training procedures

-Proactively address performance or disciplinary issues with BOH team

-Complete projects as assigned; meet deadlines as established

-Foster an environment of cooperation and teamwork between culinary, service and warehouse teams

To be over-the-top amazing in this role, the Executive Sous Chef will need to work a variety of shifts (including events), weekends and occasional holidays – and may work at our other locations.

Our candidate will need 5+ years culinary experience and at least 3 years' experience in a Sous Chef role. Culinary education is preferred but isn't required.

-Squat, kneel, climb ladders or step stools as needed

-Use industrial cleaning chemicals

-Grip objects and tools (including wet or slippery items); utilize fine motor skills

-Stand up to 12 hours at a time

-Lift up to 50 lbs. to chest level and up to 30 lbs. overhead

-Ability to read and write English; ability to read and write Spanish beneficial but not required

-Valid driver’s license with insurable history

-Consistent attendance with a varied schedule including morning, evening, closing

-Understanding of metric system of measurement

This is a salaried exempt position, $62-$67K to start.
