Location: KAWA RAMEN AND SUSHI RESTAURANT
KAWA RAMEN & SUSHI located on Milwaukee's eastside is looking for an experienced and energetic individual to help lead our FOH operations. Being on the cusp of beautiful residential neighborhoods, and nearby UWM and downtown Milwaukee we get a great mix for our customer base, we have developed a reputation for great food, great service - all at a great price. We had a fire in our building last June and our gearing up for our reopen in the coming weeks. We've maintained some core staff, and unfortunately lost some as well. We're looking for the right candidates to help us lead staff in this new era for Kawa. This is intended to be a working position, meaning you will be working front of the house shifts daily as a host side-by-side with the members of your team. With a focus on customer service and staff support! The ideal candidate for this position will have a true passion for the hospitality industry as well as a can-do attitude, willing to do whatever it takes to care for the guests and support their team. The current team is a diverse mix from multiple Asian countries, as well as many long time locals. A self-starting motivated attitude will be needed in this position. We highly value individual integrity, and strong motivational leadership skills. Some recent bartending and service experience is strongly prefered.
Responsibilities will come to include:
Overall success of KAWA Japanese.
Ensuring a memorable experience of all guests.
Recruitment of new staff, interviewing, hiring, training, ongoing development, and coaching and counseling of staff to so they may reach their highest level of potential.
Help owners with, labor management, nightly payroll outputs.
Insight into development of food and drink specials, and their marketing is always a plus.
Marketing and promotion of the restaurant through social media and other methods strongly desirable.
Development of personal strengths and growth is essential.
Some assistance with inventory and ordering/receiving order and payng CODs a must.
The owners and General manager are heavily involved with day to day operations and will ease the right candidate into job roles, as they become ready and needed.
Multitasking and 360 awareness is an absolute must have skill - as the position requires ability to work a host stand while keeping a watchful eye on the needs of the restaurant.
Host stand includes taking reservations, plotting of tables, assigning servers, guest call backs, and handling/packaging of to-go orders, all while maintaining guest satisfaction truly makes this an integral portion of this position.
Working in any capacity that is required to provide support to your team.
This is a salaried management position you will be expected to work an average hourly work week of 42 to a maximum 57 hours with all hours worked being from our late morning opens into the evenings up until close, weekends are also a must. Along with your wages you may also earn tips as you serve, or host.
Our restaurant front and back of the house was pretty much fully renovated top to bottom this past year. Our restaurant is consistently ranked as one of the top rated places to have Sushi, and Japanese food in the Milwaukee area, on yelp and similar review sites.
