Sustaining Engineer (2nd Shift)

Position DescriptionAt a Glance Legrand has an exciting opportunity for aSustaining Engineerto join theKenall Team in Kenosha, WI. We are seeking a talented and experienced Sustaining Engineer to join our team in the lighting sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the continuous improvement and maintenance of lighting products, systems, and processes. Position will also lead or participate in cost reduction and productivity process improvements as needed. This is a 2nd shift position, Mon - Fri: 11:30am-8:00pm. What Will You Do?

Manage product design throughout the product lifecycle, maintaining all cost, performance, and schedule requirements.

Perform root cause analysis to identify and resolve product or process issues related to lighting technology.

Collaborate with cross-functional departments to identify and implement design improvements for existing lighting products.

Conduct cost analysis and feasibility studies to optimize the manufacturing and efficiency of lighting systems.

Create and maintain documentation related to product specifications, schematics, and technical drawings.

Provide technical support to manufacturing and quality assurance teams to ensure high-quality production of lighting products.

Support manufacturing inquiries and technical issues related to existing lighting products and systems.

Participate in cost reduction projects as required.

Participate in productivity process improvements with manufacturing engineering.

Work with manufacturing on VAVE projects to reduce cost and labor.

Serve as a technical resource for purchasing.

Perform ECNs, drafting, documentation, and prototype construction.

Develop layouts and detailed drawings using 3-D solid modeling software to prototype VAVE solutions.

Preparation of required documentation, such as bills of material, detailed drawings, component specifications, packaging, specification sheets, instruction sheets, and engineering change notices.

Occasional domestic travel may be required.

QualificationsEDUCATION / CRITICAL SKILLS / EXPERTISE:

Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering required.

2-5 years of manufacturing experience within the lighting industry preferred.

Proficient in Inventor and/or Solid Works.

Computer literate including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel.

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Strong written and verbal English communication skills as required to discuss training, general direction and other position-related tasks.

Must be professional in appearance and attitude and possess the ability to work in a professional manner with customers, vendors, and employees at all levels.

High level of self-initiative and dependability.

Must be flexible to perform overtime duties or adjust schedule when required.

Resourceful and highly organized with an attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to manage, prioritize and balance multiple tasks.

Ability to work within a team environment.
