The Eau Claire City-County Health Department has an exciting opportunity for a Community Health Educator/Project Evaluator focused on data evaluation, communication, and outreach. This grant-funded position will use data to evaluate, support, and create communications about alcohol, vaping/tobacco, and other drug misuse among youth and adults in Eau Claire County. This position requires public health knowledge and excellent analytical, interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. This position will support substance misuse prevention activities in Eau Claire County through working with coalitions, community partners, and conducting outreach activities.
As a Community Health Educator/Project Evaluator, your primary duties will be to:
Collect, track, analyze, and maintain data needed for grants, reporting, evaluation, health education and promotion, and quality improvement efforts
Work with a team to support and evaluate substance misuse programs
Develop communication and messaging strategies to educate the community, partners, and other audiences about substance misuse prevention and promote programs. Communication could include: developing dashboards, infographics, reports, and presentations to share educational messages and program data; keeping website content current and developing social media communications; creating education materials for distribution and attending community outreach events; and/or developing and distributing newsletters for different audiences,
Your minimum qualifications must include:
Bachelor’s degree in public health, health education, or other related field.
Program evaluation knowledge and/or experience.
Knowledge of and/or experience with alcohol, tobacco, and other drug prevention programs.
Experience creating and sharing public health messages with the public.
Experience with data analysis, database, dashboard, and/or data analysis software.
Strong written and verbal communication, including technical writing skills.
Attention to detail including ability to develop clear and actionable workplans.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
This is a full-time, grant funded position through 8/30/2025 with the possibility of extension after that date depending on funding. This position is hybrid with the opportunity to work from home 2-3 days/week after an initial orientation period.
