Entry level immediate help needed in a manufacturing environment within a growing engineering and manufacturing company in Yakima. Docent Design and Manufacturing (DDM) is a machine shop and engineering firm which builds and manufactures components for the aerospace and consumer industry. DDM does small run batches to large run batches as well as custom machinery and equipment. A small company with potential for growth. DDM is a small company therefore employee will be expected to do a broad range of task and duties which could include the following but not limited to…
Operating CNC mills and routers, sometimes long run orders
Operating manual mills and lathes
Operating Laser engraving equipment
Drilling, grinding, and tapping metal components
Plastic forming
Packaging and prepping finished product for deliveries to consumers or end customer (daily)
Assembly work and packaging
Machine maintenance
Shop maintenance and upkeep
Fulfilling daily orders via computer software service
Creating shop work plans in word or similar computer software (DOE)
Fork Lift operation (DOE)
Working with others in assembly of large equipment and testing
Aid in engineering with research and development
Ability to learn
Qualifications:
Employees are expected to have a positive attitude and wanting to learn.
Experience working with tools is required.
Machine shop and machine setup experience is a plus but not required.
Basic computer skills
When at work expected to work and share thoughts for process improvements
Detail oriented mindset
Metal working experience or ability to handle metal and some plastics.
DDM has competitive pay and will depend on interview process and experience. 2 weeks paid time off for full time employees. This position has flexible work hours (day shift) and can work 30-40 hours per week if chosen. Accident insurance is offered to employee as well as a generous profit-sharing program.
