SUMMARY:
The Maritime Fab companies include La Conner Maritime Service – a full service boatyard located in La Conner, and Smileys Pro Services – a metal fabrication and machine shop located in west Mount Vernon. The maintenance person performs duties of facility and yard equipment maintenance at both company locations (boatyard in La Conner and fabrication shop in Mount Vernon). The job involves both performing and coordinating outside vendors to complete repair of facility and equipment as needed. A general understanding of mechanical equipment, machinery, AC and DC electrical systems, and best-practices for repair and maintenance of all is needed. Applicant should possess
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Work with La Conner Yard Manager and Smileys Shop Manager to prioritize and organize maintenance requests, including scheduled maintenance on equipment.
2. Perform scheduled maintenance on equipment and machines and tools as needed, including fluid changes on motorized equipment, and industrial machines (i.e. press brake, shear, overhead crane, etc.)
3. Oversee other staff who may be helping with maintenance tasks
4. Respond to priority maintenance requests as needed
5. Maintain records of all maintenance performed on equipment and vehicles
6. Maintains strict adherence to all established safety procedures, practices and standards
7. Performs other related duties as may be assigned.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Completion of: Minimum requirement 12th grade graduation with 2 years of continuing education or experience in related fields.
SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
General mechanical background.
Knowledge of general electrical, plumbing and building maintenance.
Able to communicate effectively with other team members.
Attention to detail and record keeping skills.
Able to schedule, prioritize, and respond to maintenance demands.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
20/20 eye sight or correctable
Able to lift or move 50-100 lbs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed both indoors and outdoors.
