Position: Abatement Project Manager

Location: Auburn, WA

Employment Status: Exempt/ Salary

Hours: Monday through Friday7:30 – 4:00 P.M. / Some overtime required

Compensation: $65,000 - $85,000, depending on experience + quarterly bonuses

The Opportunity:

The Abatement Project Manager at Rainier US is responsible for leading and managing environmental abatement projects, including asbestos, lead, mold, and biohazards. This role requires expertise in advanced abatement techniques, knowledge of regulatory compliance, and the ability to supervise complex tasks and teams effectively. Additionally, the role requires estimating for work to be sold and produced.

Primary Responsibilities:

Project Supervision and Execution:

o Supervise and perform advanced abatement tasks, including the removal and reapplication of insulating materials.

o Ensure compliance with EPA, OSHA, and relevant state regulations.

o Manage and regulate Negative Pressure Enclosures and authorized access.

o Meet or exceed sales goals.

o Provide immediate advice and expertise to customers and establish a face-to-face relationship by responding to

potential jobs in person (when possible).

o Develop estimates including creation of detailed and accurate diagrams in Xactimate along with detailed line items in

Xactimate to submit for insurance and client review.

o Meet or exceed sales goals.

Safety and Regulatory Compliance:

o Implement and oversee safety precautions and procedures to control regulated areas and prevent cross-contamination.

o Complete and maintain regulatory records and documentation for NEA's (Negative Exposure Assessments).

Equipment and Crew Management:

o Supervise crew members, ensuring the optimal operation of abatement equipment.

o Maintain and oversee respiratory equipment, monitoring devices, HEPA vacuums, and other related equipment.

Documentation and Reporting:

o Conduct and document air monitoring from pre-abatement to final clearances.

o Complete required paperwork and update project information in the database.

o Interface with customers and relay information to management as appropriate.

Waste Management and Material Application:

o Manage hazardous waste disposal procedures and documentation.

o Oversee the application of new environmentally safe materials post-abatement.

Physical Requirements and Additional Responsibilities:

o Ability to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in extreme conditions.

o Participate in an on-call schedule for after-hours service calls.

o Maintain a clean driving record and pass background checks.

Skills and Experience Requirements:

High school diploma or GED.

Valid Washington State driver's license.

U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident Alien status, or authorization to work in the U.S.

Required to pass Lead Supervisor training and Hazwoper certification within the first six months of employment.

5 years of experience in Asbestos Abatement is preferred, but not required.

Washington State Asbestos Supervisor Certification (with no violations) is preferred, but not required.

Bilingual - Spanish/English is preferred, but not required.

Asbestos supervisor, RRP (Lead), Asbestos Project Designer etc is preferred, but not required.
