Another Source’s client, Sabey Data Centers, is recruiting a Strategic Procurement Lead to join their Tukwila, WA team.

About the Role

The Strategic Procurement Lead position is crucial for establishing a strategic procurement function within the organization and supporting sourcing, supplier relationship management, supply chain continuity, cost optimization, contract management, and stakeholder collaboration. This position will act as a collaborative partner across the organization and will bring a builder’s mindset to the role, building relationships, strategy, and processes.

The Strategic Procurement Lead will contribute to the overall success of the Sabey Data Centers by sustaining strong supplier relationships, identifying, and implementing efficiency measures and managing procurement quality and risks. The Lead Procurement Specialist will work closely with our construction project managers and data center operations directors, finance and legal and regularly report to company leaders.

Anticipated Hiring Range: $78,000-$117,000

Primary Responsibilities

Partner with internal stakeholders on strategic sourcing efforts, including contract negotiation.

Foster strong relationships with key suppliers and manage supplier performance.

Monitor supplier performance, conduct regular supplier evaluations, and implement development initiatives to ensure quality, cost, and delivery targets are met.

Drive cost reduction initiatives through negotiation, value engineering, and total cost ownership analysis without compromising quality and service levels.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including engineering, operations, and finance teams, to understand technical specifications, requirements, and quality standards for critical items.

Serve as trusted advisor and resource for internal teams, offering guidance on procurement best practices.

Ensure supply chain continuity through proactive risk management and contingency planning.

Monitor market conditions, assess supplier capabilities, and develop strategies to address potential supply chain disruptions.

Develop KPI’s to monitor and improve Supplier and Buyer performance.

Maintains the highest ethical standards, even when challenged.

Essential Functions

Ability to interact with all levels of Sabey employees and business partners – must be able to build and maintain strong professional relationships.

Interface with technology and operate a computer.

Ability to work independently with minimal instruction.

Ability to remain stationary for extended periods of time.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field.

7-10 years of total work experience, with 5-7 years of direct experience in procurement or purchasing.

Minimum Competencies

Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment, without compromising quality of work.

Advanced knowledge of the English language – excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with all levels of Sabey employees and business partners.

Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.

Proficient analytical and decision-making skills.

Solid understanding of procurement and sourcing techniques as well as supply chain management.

Proficiency with Microsoft Suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.

Strategic thinking with the ability to anticipate and navigate future procurement challenges and opportunities.

Proficiency in procurement software and tools, Yardi experience preferred.

Familiarity with Data Centers, Real Estate and/or Construction.

Must be committed to continuous learning and growing within the organization
