Project Manager

Washington, Seattle-tacoma, 98101 Seattle-tacoma USA

Vacancy caducado!

Local nonprofit internet cooperative seeks part-time experienced Project Manager to provide initial customer service response and escalation, supervise staff and volunteers, and attend meetings and contribute to the development of the network. This role is expected to offer between 10-20 hours weekly, and is highly flexible in terms of scheduling (you will mostly set your own hours). Some weekend work is required from time to time.

Tacoma Cooperative Network is a member-owned internet provider active in the Hilltop and McKinley Hill neighborhoods of Tacoma poised and funded for powerful growth and expansion this coming year. The network seeks to inspire the City of Tacoma to rethink “internet as usual” and operates with a mandate to close the digital divide and provide equitable, high-speed internet access to the local community. The network is owned and controlled by its members, ensuring that everyone has democratic access to the internet, and no one is cut off from the network for non-payment.

As Project Manager for TCN, you will operate with a high degree of independence and will report directly to the board and execute the board’s objectives and goals while contributing meaningfully with your own ideas. You will have a hands-on role with customer service in the beginning of this position, as you will be the first contact for any member issues with the network (and will be able to escalate to a volunteer team or other staff as needed). You will also be responsible for overseeing contractors and staff for the network and helping plan their work in order to achieve recruitment goals, execute marketing purchases and work with contractors to design marketing materials, work with grant writers, and work with bookkeepers to provide basic financial oversight and management. While you do not need to be an IT expert, an intermediate level of familiarity with computers and willingness to learn additional technical skills is required.

Desired qualifications:

Project management (3-5 years of experience desired)

Customer service

Familiarity with nonprofits or business development

Intermediate computer skills and willingness to learn additional technical skills

Ability to work independently and execute plans with minimal oversight or supervision

This role is part time with the possibility of developing into a full time position 6-12 months or more from now. We are offering $30-35 hourly depending on skills and experience. TCN offers paid sick leave in accordance with Washington State law. We do not currently offer any other benefits.

Please send a resume and cover letter/email indicating your interest and availability.
