Job Title: Facilities Manager/ Maintenance

FSLA Status: Non-Exempt, Full-time Approved By: Executive Director

Compensation: $34.00 to $38.00 per hour

Summary: The Facilities Manager is responsible for supporting facility maintenance for the SVDP main headquarters, food bank as well as its four Thrift Stores. This includes interior and exterior maintenance, repair, and cleanliness of the SVDP locations. Maintain maintenance policies and procedures and vendor contacts. Perform daily work orders and preventative maintenance assignments.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities/ Maintenance: The duties and responsibilities of this position shall include, but not be limited to the following. Other duties and responsibilities assigned as needed by the Executive Director.

Maintains facilities maintenance log that tracks requests and prioritizes projects.

Builds Community partnerships to increase access to resources and services that can help advance building and

expansion projects.

Supervises Facilities Maintenance personnel with various assignments as needs arise.

Prepares new project documentation and acquires multiple contractor bids for work done by independent contractors.

Ensuring that facilities meet health, safety, and all permitting as required by authorities.

Project management and supervising and coordinating work of contractors.

Calculating and comparing costs for required goods or services to achieve maximum value & quality for money spent.

Assist in planning for future developments in line with strategic business objectives.

Manage and lead projects to ensure minimum disruption to core activities.

Manage and plan essential central services such as security improvements, maintenance, cleaning, and waste disposal and recycling.

Planning best allocation and utilization of space and resources for new buildings or re-organizing current buildings.

Using performance management techniques to monitor and document achievement of staff and contractors.

In conjunction with maintenance staff, respond appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise. Requires

willingness to respond during off-hours for emergencies.

Supervises employees hired to work on various maintenance projects.

Conduct regular building, property related inspections in accordance with prepared schedules.

Minimum Qualifications/ Maintenance: In order to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of this position, an individual must posses the knowledge, training, skills and experience indicated by the following.

Education/Experience

Two to Five years of experience in construction, maintenance, or repair work;

Training and experience equivalent to one of the employment standards listed above that provides the required knowledge and abilities.

Language Ability

Must have the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and to communicate as necessary with supervisor and other employees.

Certificates and Licenses

Valid Washington State Driver’s license

Have well-developed fine motor control and the ability to grasp, handle, finger, and manipulate small and large items.

Have full range of body motion with the ability to regularly reach above head, stoop, bend, twist, and squat.

Be able to perform repetitive fine motor functions with fingers, wrists, arms and waist.

Must be able to move across a wide variety of surfaces including, but not limited to, ramps, stairs, and move over objects that may be in employee’s path.
