High Mountain Gear is a Tacoma-based company designing and manufacturing climbing and outdoor expedition equipment. We are seeking a full-time sewing machine operator with experience in industrial sewing to join our small but growing shop. This is a hands-on role where attention to detail and reliability matter most.
Responsibilities:
Operate industrial sewing machines (walking foot, bar tack, etc.) to produce climbing and outdoor products (bags, portaledges, accessories).
Follow production patterns and instructions with accuracy.
Maintain a clean and safe work area.
Assist with prep work (cutting, marking, quality checks) as needed.
Requirements:
Previous experience with industrial sewing machines.
Ability to work full-time (40 hrs/week) in Tacoma, WA.
Strong attention to detail and consistent workmanship.
Dependable and able to follow directions.
Background check required (past history does not automatically disqualify you — applicants with varied backgrounds are welcome to apply).
Compensation & Benefits:
$21–25/hr depending on experience.
Training provided on specific gear and methods.
