Chicory Restaurant, located in Downtown Olympia, is seeking an experienced line cook to join their team. We are a from scratch kitchen that specializes in local, seasonal ingredients with inspiration from the American South. Chicory works with many local farmers in the area and other regional purveyors, prioritizing the quality of ingredients to offer the best dining experience in Olympia. A seasonal menu means menu items change often, allowing for a dynamic work environment.
The ideal candidate is someone with at least 3 years of professional cooking experience, with hot line/saute experience being a plus. This individual has a passion for cooking with intention and quality. They thrive in a fast paced workplace and works well with others as a team.We want to hire someone who is a fast learner, energetic, organized, respectful, and takes pride in their skills. Weekend availability is a must.
At Chicory, we have a 20% automatic gratuity that is added to every check, this is split equally between front and back of house, to create a more equitable working environment. Base pay begins at $16.28, with the additional gratuity averaging between $15-$20 and hour, which can be higher on weekend nights. Cooks generally work 20-30 hours a week, depending on needs of the individual and the restaurant.
