Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Line Cook and Prep Cook/Dishwasher to join our team at Buck's American Cafe. As a Line Cook, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring our guests receive exceptional dining experiences. Your responsibilities will include preparing food, collaborating with the kitchen staff, and maintaining high-quality standards.

Responsibilities:

Set up and stock cooking stations with necessary supplies.

Prepare food for service (e.g., chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces).

Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff.

Follow executive or sous chef’s instructions.

Maintain cleanliness and organization in your station.

Ensure that food is served simultaneously, in high quality, and in a timely manner.

Comply with nutrition, sanitation regulations, and safety standards.

Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.

Requirements:

Proven cooking experience, including experience as a Line Chef, Restaurant Cook, or Prep Cook.

Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.

Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks.

Familiarity with industry best practices.

Culinary school diploma is a plus, but not required.

Prep Cook Responsibilities:

Assist in food preparation, including chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and assembling ingredients.

Follow recipes and portion control guidelines.

Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation.

Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards.

Dishwasher Responsibilities:

Ensure the availability of clean dishes by bussing tables, washing dishes, pots, pans, and flatware.

Reset dining areas and cook stations for the next shift.

Clean machines and appliances used in the kitchen, such as coffee makers, pots, and pans.

Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the restaurant.

Qualifications:

Previous experience as a prep cook or dishwasher a plus but not required.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.

Reliable and punctual.
