Responsible for the overall integration of propulsion, electrical, mechanical, and safety systems on commercial passenger and work boats.
· Design and Development: Collaborate with naval architects and other engineering professionals to contribute to the design and development of commercial aluminum vessels. Asist the in-house design team on marine system design and unique system integration.
· Propulsion and ship service: Engineering and integrating marine propulsion system, including the design, installation, and maintenance of propulsion components such as engines, propellers, and water jets. Responsibilities include ensuring efficient and reliable power generation and transmission to optimize vessel performance and operational reliability.
· Mechanical Systems: Oversee the installation and maintenance of mechanical systems on marine vessels, such as HVAC systems, hydraulic systems, and associated safety systems.
· Electrical Systems: Oversee the electrical systems integration including generators, distribution panels, lighting, and communication systems.
· Testing and Evaluation: Participate in performance tests on marine systems and equipment to verify compliance with specifications and standards
· Documentation and Reporting: Ensure detailed documentation of engineering activities.
· Budgeting and Project Management: Participate in budgeting processes related to engineering projects, including cost estimates for new bids. Manage engineering projects, coordinating with other professionals and contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective completion.
· Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about industry regulations and standards, including those set by the United States Coast Guard (USCG) and other relevant authorities. Ensure that production boats comply with maritime regulations
