Job Summary:
Responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children in a home setting. This role involves supervising daily activities, ensuring children's well-being, participating in educational and recreational activities, preparing meals, and maintaining communication with parents.
Key Responsibilities:
Child Supervision & Safety of Children:
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in your care.
- Monitor playtime, meals, and nap schedules.
- Follow emergency protocols and first-aid procedures.
Daily Care & Routines:
- Assist children with feeding, diapering/toileting, and hygiene.
- Establish and maintain daily schedules, including naps and structured activities.
Educational & Recreational Activities:
- Plan and facilitate age-appropriate learning activities.
- Encourage creative play, arts and crafts, reading, and outdoor play.
- Support early childhood development through structured learning experiences.
Nutrition & Meal Preparation:
- Prepare and serve healthy meals and snacks.
- Accommodate special dietary needs and allergies.
Communication with Parents:
- Provide daily updates on children's behavior, activities, and progress.
- Discuss any concerns regarding development, behavior, or health.
Household & Environment Maintenance:
- Keep daycare areas clean, sanitized, and organized.
- Ensure toys, furniture, and equipment are safe and well-maintained.
Compliance & Record-Keeping:
- Follow state licensing requirements and safety regulations.
- Maintain attendance records, emergency contacts, and health records.
- Stay updated on CPR/First Aid certifications and Merit Stars training.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience in childcare, early childhood education, or a related field.
- Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate activities.
- Patience, compassion, and strong communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple children at once.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid.
- Ability to pass background checks and meet licensing requirements.
Work Environment & Schedule:
- Work takes place in a home setting.
- Afternoons from 12pm-5pm part-time, and 8am-5pm for full-time
Compensation & Benefits:
- $18.00-$20.00 depending on experience
