Building Blocks Nursery School, located in the Bryant neighborhood, is currently seeking a part-time teacher to work in the toddler (ages 2-3) and preschool (ages 4-5) classrooms. This position is flexible and up to 30 hours per week. The school is open year-round, M-F 7am-6pm.
Job Duties:
Interact positively with all children to encourage an open and engaging learning environment
Assist with the planning and implement preschool curriculum
Communicate regularly and respectfully with families
Clean, organize and maintain the classroom and all teaching materials
Perform other tasks as assigned/needed
Required Qualifications:
Be a minimum of 18 years of age
Must hold a High School Diploma/GED
Strong working knowledge of child development and early childhood education with at least one year professional experience
Excellent communication skills with children, staff, parents, and administration
Self-starter with strong accountability
CPR/First Aid/BBP training
Three professional references
Able to routinely kneel, bend, crouch and sit on the floor for extended periods of time
Able to stand, walk and sit on child sized chairs throughout the day
Must meet state licensing requirements for education and additional center/school requirements
