We are hiring for a full-time lead preschool teacher position, working with up to 20 children aged 2.5-3.5 years old (with teaching team of 1-2 other staff). Shift is 8:15a - 5:15p. Fluent written and spoken English required, bilingual Spanish a bonus.
We're looking for candidates who have experience working in a center-based setting, who are warm, nurturing, and pay keen attention to detail.
Duties
- Contribute to the creation and implementation of a child-centered, play-based curriculum, including weekly lesson plans
- Work collaboratively with classroom teaching team as well as with other staff
- Communicate with families on a casual daily basis, as well as more formally through conference- s
- Maintain an engaging and developmentally appropriate environment
- Follow all state and local health department and licensing laws
- Keep up with required paperwork
- Perform routine cleaning tasks
- Potty training
Requirements
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Proof of MMR & COVID-19 vaccinations
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Excellent verbal and written English (bilingual a plus!)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray
- Willingness to complete all required online and in-person trainings in a timely manner
- Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs, bend, stoop, spend significant time standing and walking, sit on the floor, climb stairs, and be generally active
