Position Overview:

The Store Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations of the store and yard, ensuring the efficient handling, storage, and distribution of landscaping materials. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a commitment to customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Store Operations:

Oversee the daily operations of the landscape supply store and yard, ensuring an efficient workflow and high levels of customer satisfaction.

Manage inventory levels of landscaping materials such as bark, soil, gravel, and concrete, ensuring adequate stock and timely reordering.

Ensure accurate pricing and product labeling throughout the store and yard.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe store and yard environment.

Yard Operations:

Oversee and manage the yard’s daily activities, including the receipt, storage, and distribution of bark, soil, gravel, and other landscaping materials.

Coordinate the loading and unloading of materials, ensuring accuracy and safety.

Maintain an organized and clean yard to ensure safety and operational efficiency.

Conduct regular inspections of inventory to track stock levels, quality, and material integrity.

Delivery Services:

Schedule and oversee deliveries of landscaping materials and concrete, ensuring timely and accurate service.

Coordinate with drivers to plan delivery routes for maximum efficiency.

Address and resolve delivery issues promptly, maintaining customer satisfaction.

Customer Service:

Assist customers in selecting materials and provide knowledgeable recommendations based on their needs.

Ensure all customer orders are accurately prepared and fulfilled.

Address customer inquiries and concerns with professionalism and a problem-solving mindset.

Team Leadership:

Supervise and train yard staff, promoting a safe and productive work environment.

Assign tasks to team members and monitor performance to ensure operational goals are met.

Foster a positive work culture and encourage teamwork among staff.

Equipment and Maintenance:

Ensure all equipment, including loaders and delivery vehicles, is properly maintained and operational.

Schedule and oversee regular equipment inspections and repairs as needed.

Enforce safety protocols for the use of yard equipment.

Administrative Duties:

Monitor and manage inventory levels, placing orders as necessary to maintain stock.

Prepare and maintain reports on yard operations, including material usage, deliveries, and staffing.

Ensure compliance with company policies, local regulations, and safety standards.

Qualifications:

Experience: Minimum of [5 years] experience in a similar role, preferably in landscaping, construction, or material distribution.

Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Knowledge: Familiarity with landscaping materials, equipment operation, and delivery logistics.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move heavy materials, operate machinery, and work in outdoor conditions.

Licenses: Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred but not mandatory.
