Actalent Services is seeking a traveling Automation Field Service Technician to support our client based in Clackamas. Description:This Automation Technician will be traveling 70-75% of the time doing customer installs, repairs and commissioning. The equipment is automated and usually large conveyers and automated equipment. This person will be responsible for setting up these custom systems and assuring they run properly. A typical day could be editing / modifying PLC's (typically in AB), they might be doing troubleshooting and working hands on with the equipment to identify system errors. They will be using a variety of hand tools to assure power is going to the right places. They may also be training the customers on how the equipment works. They need to have mechanical and electrical aptitude.Skills:Automation, Troubleshooting, Plc programming, Allen-bradley, Hmi, Mechanical, Programming, Plc troubleshooting, Wiring, Fluid system, Hand tool, Control panel, Field service, Installation, Repair, Service, CommissioningAdditional Skills & Qualifications:
Experience using basic hand tools (a bolt or wire might be loose and it might be as simple and tightening or unplug and plug wire back in)
Determine machine / equipment problems (what is faulting / going wrong) - they will perform basic troubleshooting on machine functioning (verify where problem is located)
Will do assembly and installation of various machine components in the field ( might just be a problem where a part needs to be swapped)
Perform hands-on electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repairs (ensure machine is functioning correctly according to specifications & documentation the customer has.)
Modify & edit PLC programming in the machine - engineers will verify anything that is rewritten but will edit the code if there is a small error that is causing the machine not to run.
Mechanical aptitude and experience working with electromechanical systems
Electrical troubleshooting, with control panel wiring and sensors.
