Title HVAC Engineer Position Number 39075 Company WA River Protection Solutions City/State Richland, WA Location 200E Posted 05/23/2024 Closes 06/06/2024 Regular/Temporary Regular Full/Part-Time Full-Time Job Responsibilities/DutiesWashington River Protection Solutions (WRPS) is the tank farm operating contractor at the Hanford Site which is the largest environmental cleanup organization in the world with dynamic engineering teams coordinated between nuclear operations and critical projects to serve the WRPS mission. The mission is to safely store, retrieve, and treat 56 million gallons of legacy radioactive and hazardous waste dating back to the Manhattan Project and Cold War. In your engineering role, you will gain fundamental engineering knowledge that is critical to complex multi-disciplined teams that are responsible for radioactive and hazardous waste cleanup.In the role of HVAC Engineer, you will grow your professional career in a highly integrated organization where your will get to interact with Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, Environmental, Radcon, Safety, Industrial Safety, Quality Assurance, and Projects. This position reports to Tank Farms Systems Engineering (TFSE) that provides daily support to Operation, Maintenance, and Facility customers. The TFSE is a multidisciplined team that includes HVAC Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Area Engineers, and Fire Protection Engineers.The HVAC Engineer will be required to provide the following duties for this position:

Ownership for assigned HVAC system and provide operation, maintenance, and facility support.

Configuration management for assigned system engineering documents, drawings, engineering change notices, calculations, and reports.

System performance tracking and verification and validation of equipment operational data.

Operations support includes procedures, PM data sheets, work packages, spare parts, technical evaluations, procurements, field walk downs, and technical engineering support.

Equipment support includes preparing material requests, maintaining spare parts, procurements, and development and/or update of technical basis of maintenance documents.

Field support includes troubleshooting and operational support for HVAC, exhaust ventilation systems, mechanical systems, control systems, and facility instrumentation.

Engineering Technical Qualification and Design Authority for assigned systems.

Set high standard for conduct of engineering, quality of products, and compliance with procedures, codes, and standards.

Be customer service oriented, completing assignment safely, on time, and within budget.

Perform administrative duties on time (routine training, safety meetings, daily time allocation, continuing training, staff meetings).

Maintain knowledge of Tank Farms Documented Safety Analysis (DSA), Technical Safety Requirements (TSR), and Environmental Permit requirements for assigned systems.

Attendance at weekly operations and engineering team meetings.

Engineering support to HVAC projects, if needed, during design, testing, and installation phases.

Provide training and mentoring to help develop less experienced engineers.

Provide leadership in determining solutions to complex problems.
