The Owners
Good leadership makes or breaks any company. The owners have the first responsibility to embody our values and keep us focused on our mission. Like the sentry goose stretching it’s neck up and over the other geese as they eat, our leaders keep a look out for things that can harm us. Ultimately, the success, or failure, of the company, is the final responsibility of the owners.
Calling on The Team
Leadership believes in a collaborative model for making important decisions of the company. The people with the least amount of experience have the freshest eyes to any problem. Having an “outside the box” perspective often brings more creative solutions. Leadership will carefully consider and listen to all perspectives and then make the final decision.
Team Membership
When choosing members for their team, the Navy Seals seek to balance two primary measures of the applicant: Trustworthiness and Expertise. If they have to pick between one person with very high trustworthiness and mid level expertise, and another person with mid level trustworthiness and very high expertise, they will choose the person with very high trustworthiness and train expertise to the level needed.
Just like the Seals, ATSI chooses team members with trustworthiness, over expertise. This culture is the underpinning of our standards of entry. We have found the best way to discern if someone has these standards, is to work with them. After hiring, applicants start a 90 day trial period before becoming a team member. After 90 days, the team member will be eligible for benefits.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
This position will help the Managing Partner with clerical duties. Including but not limited to accounts receivable, accounts payable, message taking, answering phones, and other misc. office tasks.

Our Mission Defined:
As far as we can tell, there are three general types drawn to the environmental field:
Type 1: Value the needs of humans over the needs of the environment. This can cause them to skirt over environmental protections all together in their drive to complete their project. They see the plight of their projects as paramount and treat conservation as having no point, nor any real value.
Type 2: Are driven by the needs of the environment and addressing the rate of consumption of natural resources. They can overlook the needs of humans and see the plight of the environment as the sole point, and inherent value, of conservation.
Type 3: Believe the needs of humans are integrated with the important needs of the environment, understanding there must be a balance of these competing priorities. They are focused on making sustainability possible.
Thought Experiment
Let’s imagine…
The only way a baby could live is if they are put on a respirator. In order to power it, a diesel generator would exhaust into a protected wetland.
…Would you run the generator?
(Dr. Sharon Shewmake State Senator LD 41 D and Environmental Economist Professor at Western Washington University)
If you are like us, and Dr. Shewmake, you would run the generator. We want to live with our natural resources for generations to come. That is why we have been Making Sustainability Possible: Since 1982.
