Industry Program Manager

Full-time, 40 hours per week position available, with flexible work hours.

Description of duties: In cooperation with the Industry Strategy Team, plans, budgets, develops, oversees, and documents Industry programming for SPIE Events and potential new application meetings. Works closely with internal clients for scope, budget, and established strategic goals. In addition, works with upper management to ensure scope and direction of each project is on schedule and aligned with industry, organizational, and event priorities. Included is the organization and production of annual industry award events. Will act, in cooperation with Marketing Department, as Marketing Lead for Industry activities and will contribute effectively to messaging regarding SPIE’s position as a world-renowned organizer of optics and photonics events with strong ties to the photonics industry. Builds cooperative relationships with volunteers and industry leaders.

Education & Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a scientific discipline served by SPIE, and/or Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field.

Minimum three years’ experience in program management or project management role.

Ideal candidate has experience with the technologies practiced by the constituency of SPIE or have equivalent experience in a similar technical society.

Compensation and Benefits package includes:

Competitive wages, annual discretionary bonus. Pay Range $83,800 to $121,500 Salary.

Medical, dental & vision benefits provided (100% employer paid premium for the employee, 75% employer paid premium for the dependents).

Defined retirement contribution: SPIE provides an automatic 5% contribution PLUS SPIE offers UP to 5% matching contributions and 25% vesting each year, 100% vested after 4 years.

Paid Time Off plan beginning at 31 days per year.

Health savings accounts are partially funded by SPIE.

Flexible spending accounts for dependent care and dental/vision expenses available.

Location: Physical work location in Bellingham, WA. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. The employer will not sponsor applicants for work visas.
