EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

The Economic Empowerment Coordinator is responsible for overseeing, planning, scheduling, and providing outreach for all financial education offerings, including Financial Literacy and Renter’s Education, and all other financial education workshops. The Coordinator is responsible for doing community outreach and ensuring access at all Community Action locations. This position will focus on a whole-family approach to provide top client support. The Coordinator will supervise all Instructors or specialist staff when applicable. This will be a full time in-office position at 37.5 hours per week.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

1. Supervise and train staff; Provide adequate support to each staff member, including evaluating staff performance. Conduct routinely scheduled staff meetings and 1-on-1's.

2. Plan, schedule, and promote classes for Financial Literacy, Renters Education, and other financial

educations offerings, including Spanish-language workshops; develop a plan for the incorporation

of digital literacy assessment and instruction.

3. May teach the weekly Financial Literacy and Renter’s Education course via Zoom or in person.

4. Recruit and engage volunteer instructors and financial mentors.

5. Establish or maintain partnerships with School Districts, Banks, Libraries, Skagit Valley College,

Skagit Asset Building Coalition, WorkSource (NWC), and businesses.

6.Conduct external and internal marketing for employment and education programs. Arrange or

attend information sessions around community as needed. Create materials in English and

Spanish and work with partners to distribute information to parents, community members, and

within the agency.

7. Schedule and facilitate the monthly Skagit Asset Building Coalition to collect and share asset

building resources for low income community members across the county.

8. Review data in EmpowOR to ensure data quality and timeliness. Work with staff to create auditing

system to make sure staff data entry is correct.

9. Oversee grant compliance and reporting for grants from the Department of Commerce Asset

Building, Department of Financial Institutions, Economic Security for All, and digital literacy grants

if applicable.

10. Coordinate children’s program enrollment and ensure adequate staffing, when applicable.

11. Provide marketing materials for all Community Action staff at all locations.

12. Participate in agency trainings and meetings as required. Participate in the Whole Family Approach

Team and Asset Building conferences as needed or required.

13. Other related duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

Education & Experience:

-Bachelor Degree in Social Science, Adult Education, Human Services or job-related field.

-2+ years related job experience preferred.

-Supervisory experience desired.

-Or a combination of education and experience providing the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work.-

License(s) & Certification(s):

Must have valid driver license and auto liability insurance, if personal vehicle is used for work-related travel.

Skills & Abilities:

-Bilingual (Spanish/English) desired; additional languages helpful.

-Strong organization and time management required, with ability to multi-task.

-Experience in creating lesson plans.

-Ability to represent the agency positively at outreach events.

-Ability to facilitate trainings, and conduct presentations to individuals or groups.

-Acquired knowledge of community resources, and ability to build and sustain effective partnerships.

-Work independently, and as a team member.

-Strong supervisory skills.

-Excellent ability to plan, organize, delegate, and follow through.

-Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

-Must have strong and effective communication skills (oral and written).

-Working knowledge of standard office procedures and technologies (phone, computer, printer, photocopier, scanner, fax machine) is needed.

-Demonstrated ability to work harmoniously with people from varied cultural, socioeconomic, educational, and experiential backgrounds.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Starting wage between $29.64-$32.71 per hour (DOE)
