Job functions:
· Assist experienced carpenters with various tasks related to residential remodeling projects, including running errands and making sure Hudson Remodeling carpenters have the tools and supplies they need.
· Always maintain a clean and organized work environment.
· Always adhere to safety protocols and regulations.
· Follow instructions and guidelines from senior team members to ensure quality workmanship.
· Learn to use basic carpentry techniques, including framing, trim work and installations.
· Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively under supervision.
· Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to achieve project goals.
· Hand tools, dependable transportation, and a cell phone.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or GED is required.
· Valid Washington state driver’s license is required.
· Reliable vehicle and a cellphone that can be used for work is required.
· Owns basic carpentry tools, including but not limited to a hammer, tape measure, utility knife, chalk line, speed square, screwdriver set, pliers, level, adjustable wrench, safety glasses.
· Able to pass a mandatory drug testing and background check after receiving a job offer from Hudson Remodeling is required.
· Basic understanding of construction equipment and tools is desired.
· 1+ years’ experience in residential remodeling is desired but not required.
Skills and traits:
· Courteous, friendly and professional with a strong interest in home improvement.
· Communicate effectively with all, including the customers, co-workers, subcontractors, vendors and the general public.
· Strong work ethic, good judgment and the ability to take initiative.
· Willing to help the team and pitch in when/where needed.
· Well organized, detail-driven, able to multitask.
· Able to work as a team or independently.
Work schedule: 40 hours per week, primarily Monday through Friday during normal business hours.
Location: This role requires you to reliably commute to various job sites in Whatcom and Skagit counties and to Hudson Remodeling’s office east of Lynden, Washington.
Compensation:
· $23-$25 per hour, depending on skills and experience, opportunities for advancement.
· Accrual of sick pay in accordance with Washington state law.
· Mileage reimbursement between jobs.
· Full-time staff members have access to the following benefits:
-Regence Blue Shield medical plan after two months of employment (preventative care, $1,500 annual deductible per person, $30 copay for office visits, option to add family members at your own expense).
-Paid holidays and vacation time after six months.
