AP Specialist / Staff Accountant Job Description

Basic Function, Education and Experience:
AP Specialist / Staff Accountant is responsible for the day-to-day Accounts Payable and other bookkeeping functions required to produce monthly GAAP financial statements for our properties or other joint venture structures. Accuracy and timeliness in the completion of the workload is required in this position.
Hourly: $25 - $40
Accounts Payable:
Process payable invoices: review, code and acquire proper approvals
Process automatics payments
Collect W-9’s and ACH forms as needed for new vendors
Record credit card charges
Accounts Receivable:
Record tenant receipts
Process monthly tenant billings and other miscellaneous billbacks
Monitor tenant accounts for overages/shortages and past due amounts
Payroll:
Review recorded time
Review time off
Process payroll and record journal entries
General Ledger:
Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
Record monthly adjusting
Reconcile intercompany accounts
Review Construction in Progress accounts
Other Skills and Abilities:
Ability to create and use pivot tables, formulas, and other spreadsheet functions in Excel
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to learn different software programs as needed
Accounting education or equivalent experience
Additional duties as assigned
