In this role, the Staff Accountant is in charge of preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will also be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting. You will assist in developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This position is very involved as it will produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Perform month end close, journal entries, with minimum supervision
Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting
Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner
In-depth experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations
Special projects and impromptu reporting, upon request
Prepare monthly financial close workbooks to support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process
Recurring journal entries maintenance and reconciliation
Intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation
Participate in various department-wide initiatives
Compose thorough journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Contribute to the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Requirements
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
General familiarity with Accounts Receivable (AR)
Practical knowledge of bank reconciliations
Demonstrated knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)
Quickbooks Online experience highly desired
Command of property accounting
Adeptness in Yardi
Strong familiarity with commercial real estate
Comprehensive knowledge of general ledger
Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
High attention to detail
Efficient in ERP systems
Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
