Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Hardscape and Landscape Lead to oversee and execute high-quality installations across residential and commercial properties. This role focuses approximately 70% on hardscape work, including patio pavers, ponds, aquatic gardens, firepits, outdoor lighting, flagstone, and retaining walls. The remaining 30% may involve plant installation, general landscaping, and occasionally covering a lawn care route. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone with craftsmanship, adaptability, and the ability to guide a team on-site.
Key Responsibilities
– Hardscape Installation (70%)
– Lead and perform installation of patios, walkways, driveways, and outdoor living spaces using pavers, flagstone, and other materials
– Construct and install retaining walls, firepits, water features (ponds and aquatic gardens), and outdoor lighting systems
– Read and interpret construction drawings and site plans to ensure accuracy and quality
– Set proper grades and elevations for drainage and durability
– Operate equipment such as skid steers, compactors, and saws safely and efficiently
Softscape, Lawn Care & General Landscaping (30%)
– Oversee and assist with plant installations, bed preparation, mulching, and soil amendment
– Cover lawn care routes as needed, including mowing, edging, fertilization, and weed control
– Maintain attention to detail in both design execution and ongoing landscape care
Team Leadership & Job Management
– Direct and mentor a small crew to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality work
– Coordinate material orders, deliveries, and inventory management
– Ensure equipment and tools are well-maintained and job sites remain organized
– Communicate effectively with project managers, designers, and clients as needed
– Monitor job progress and ensure deadlines, budgets, and quality standards are met
Qualifications:
– 5 years of experience in hardscape and landscape installation
– 3 years of experience managing a crew and job site operations
– Skilled in grade setting, drainage, and equipment operation
– Familiarity with lawn care practices and seasonal landscape maintenance
– Physically able to lift 60+ lbs and work outdoors in various weather conditions
– Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
– Ability to pass a background check
