Description We are offering a contract-to-hire employment opportunity for a Payroll Administrator in Norfolk, Virginia. This role primarily involves processing bi-weekly payroll, handling benefits administration, and maintaining accurate records for approximately 200 employees in a variety of roles. Familiarity with the Paylocity system is beneficial.Responsibilities: Oversee the processing of bi-weekly payroll, ensuring accuracy and timeliness Handle benefits administration, including 401k - RRSP Administration Maintain precise payroll records for both exempt and non-exempt employees, ranging from 101 to 500 Address and resolve any payroll-related inquiries from employees Utilize the Paylocity system to manage and monitor payroll processes effectively Ensure compliance with payroll-related regulations and company policies Handle payroll garnishments in accordance with legal requirements Continually update and improve payroll processes and systems for increased efficiency Collaborate with HR and finance teams to ensure integrated data and processes Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary. Requirements Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll administration Proficient in 401k - RRSP Administration Knowledgeable about Benefit Functions Experience in managing Payroll for 101 - 500 Employees Familiar with Payroll Garnishments Proficiency in using Paylocity software Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent communication skills Ability to handle confidential information responsibly Solid understanding of payroll and payroll tax laws Experience in multi-state payroll processing is a plus Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
