Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Payroll Administrator in Norfolk, Virginia. This role primarily involves handling payroll processing duties in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The individual will play a crucial role in managing bi-weekly payroll for a substantial workforce, benefits administration, and ensuring efficient systems use within our team.Responsibilities: Accurately process bi-weekly payroll for approximately 200 employees, including both exempt and non-exempt staff. Administer benefits, such as 401k and RRSP, ensuring compliance and accuracy. Leverage Paylocity or similar payroll systems to ensure efficient payroll management. Monitor and manage payroll garnishments, adhering to legal and company guidelines. Maintain up-to-date and accurate records of payroll transactions. Act as a point of contact for all employee inquiries related to payroll and benefits. Collaborate with the HR department to ensure all payroll-related changes are implemented accurately and in a timely manner. Regularly review systems to ensure they are up-to-date and propose improvements as necessary. Ensure strict compliance with all relevant federal and state payroll regulations. Liaise with other departments to ensure smooth and efficient communication and processes. Requirements Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Payroll Administrator or in a similar role Proficiency in Paylocity software is essential Demonstrated experience with 401k and RRSP Administration Capable of managing payroll for 101 to 500 employees Knowledge of Benefit Functions is required Experience with Payroll Garnishments is necessary Able to effectively manage and organize payroll tasks Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong problem-solving abilities High level of accuracy and attention to detail Relevant certification or degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field is advantageous.
