Position Summary:
Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, aswell as other medical care treatment.
Documents patient care given.
Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition asappropriate tocare team, physician, patient, and family.
Assistspatients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, andambulation.
Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge,referraland spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family andprovidespatient/family educationappropriate toage, culture,condition, and circumstances.
Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

Registered Nurse from the Virginia Board of Nursing or compactstaterequired
Previousexperience in acute care hospital settingpreferred
Requires critical thinking skills, decisivejudgmentand the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able towork in a stressful environment and takeappropriate action.
Requires flexibility in scheduling and ability to work all shift patterns includingweekendsand holidays toensurecontinuity of care and appropriateness of nursing coverage to the patients ofSovahHealth Danville on all units.
Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Associationrequired
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) American Heart Associationrequiredor within six (6) months ofhire
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) American Heart Association OR Emergency Nurse Pediatric Certification
(ENPC) Emergency Nurse Associationrequiredor within six (6) months ofhire
Trauma Nurse Certification Course (TNCC) Emergency Nurse Associationpreferred
