Senior JAVA/JEE EngineerCBP, Ashburn, VADirect Hire The Client:Custom and Border Protection (CBP), is the largest federal law enforcement agency of the United States Department of Homeland Security, charged with regulating and facilitating international trade, collecting import duties, and enforcing U.S. regulations, including trade, customs, and immigration. CBP is the largest law enforcement agency in the United States. A Day in Review:· Design and implement JEE software applications in Weblogic\ WebSphere Application Server \JBoss· Use modern software engineering tools and methodologies including Eclipse, Rational Application Developer (RAD), and Atlasian Products (Jira, Confluence)· Work with users in an Agile development approach to understand requirements, then elicit feedback and refine solution through demonstrations· Present the solution at formal and informal design reviews, and document the design according to the Government’s system lifecycle methodology Skills that will be put to use regularly:· HTML\Javascript\CSS\JQuery· JSP\Servlets· Struts· EJBS or Sping· Web services· SQL· XML· Unix/ Linux· JEE Server experience (like Weblogic\Websphere\JBOSS\etc.)· JMS · JDBC· Experience working with users to define requirements and demonstrate solutions· Experience designing and delivering complex, highly-scalable software components These skills are a plus!Developing 100% automating unit testsUsing eclipse/RADAgile development approachGood communication skills (writing and presenting)Team leadership skills including task planning, assignment and management Education:A Bachelor’s in Computer Sciences, Engineering, Physical Sciences or related field with applicable experience is required. Applicable work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
