Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a talented Senior Back-End Engineer Department: State of Maryland Department of Labor (MDOL) Type: Full Time Min. Experience: Experienced Security Clearance Level: Background Check Military Veterans are highly encouraged to apply! Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinate with the appropriate workstreams to ensure that the claimant frontend and adjudicator back-end function as a unified service for users.
Integrate separate back-end component(s) and/or develop related API infrastructure as needed.
Build and integrate an MDOL staff view for the employer website to present submitted data and make it easy for Department staff to provide support to employees.
Ensure that the website and integrated backend can easily facilitate employer payments, provide staff with visibility into employer submissions, and account for amounts received through integrations with accounting software selected by MDOL.
Develop a modular, well-integrated backend claims adjudication system using iterative and human-centered design principles.
Integrate the MVP backend claims adjudication system with the claimant portal, other Department systems, and other government systems, as needed.

Experience in an Agile environment
