Catamount Solar, an employee-owned worker cooperative, is seeking skilled Electricians to join our team. Our Solar and Battery Electricians travel daily throughout Vermont and neighboring New Hampshire towns to install solar photovoltaic equipment and battery backup to maximize our client’s energy savings. As licensed electricians, they are leaders in the field - ensuring safety, quality, and compliance with all of our projects. Electricians work closely with the crew and customers so that we deliver an exceptional experience to everyone involved.
Duties:
Follow all safety protocols to ensure the health and wellbeing of our crew and customers.
Check and double check that all required tools, parts and inventory are loaded on the truck before leaving the warehouse.
Assemble and install panels, modules, and support structures in accordance with building codes.
Check the integrity of wiring, grounding, and electrical terminations.
Recommend proper installation of overcurrent, disconnect, surge suppression, and grounding equipment.
Working with PV Lead, install photovoltaic (PV) and battery storage systems in accordance with codes and standards using drawings, schematics, and instructions.
Install and configure internet-based PV monitoring systems. Troubleshoot components to resolve any electrical issues.
Follow OSHA, NEC, AHJ and Utility Requirements.
Document work by taking pictures and communicating with our office.
Requirements:
Journeyman or Master’s License.
Minimum 3 years of electrical installation and repair experience.
Expert knowledge of current NEC.
Strong knowledge and experience bending conduit (EMT).
Ability to read and interpret single and three-line drawings.
Experience in solar, battery, or generator installation preferred.
An advocate for safe and compliant work practices.
Self-driven and proactive approach.
Strong attention to detail.
Must be able to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds without assistance.
Comfortable working on ladders and at heights.
Clean driving record and valid Driver’s license.
Excellent communication skills and a team player.
