The Position: The Production Generalist I is an entry level position in King Arthur Baking Company’s food manufacturing facility, Merlin. The individual in this role supports KAB’s manufacturing by running production equipment, performing sanitations, packaging, labeling bags and following both food and personal safety procedures, all while embodying King Arthur Baking Company’s core competencies. The individual in this position is additionally expected to support larger Merlin safety, facilities and quality goals.

Reports to: Production Supervisor

Location: White River Junction, VT

Hours: This is a second shift position which are the hours of 3:00pm - 11:30pm, Monday to Friday.

Pay: This Production Generalist role has a starting pay rate of $18.36 per hour and a 10% shift differential due to the evening hours of this role.

$1,000 Sign-on bonus with first paycheck.

As part of the consideration process, applicants will be asked to complete a brief assessment following their application.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

Follows all established procedures adhering to ergonomic, food safety and safety protocols.

Ability to learn and effectively utilize AX and Red Zone systems and software used to validate production safety and specification while achieving OEE targets.

Learns and follows start up procedures, paperwork and Red Zone procedures.

Fills, weighs and seals bags by hand.

Validates product lot codes and ensures accuracy of case pack labeling

Learns to fill and operate line mixers, Flexicons and All-fill units.

Washes, sanitizes, and tests production equipment in compliance with established food safety protocols.

Learns to label, pack and palletize products in accordance with KAB specifications.

Completes and adheres to KAB food safety training and certifications

Learns and understands product lot coding and labeling requirements

Minimum job requirements:

Strong commitment to food quality and safety

Display commitment to KAB mission, goals and Core Competencies

Ability to work as part of a team serving the needs of King Arthur Baking.

Strong math skills

Understanding of and ability to work with computers

Communicates in a positive and professional manner

Ability to operate a forklift as needed

Must be 18 years or older

Ability to lift 50 lbs with assistance

Ability to lift 25 lbs frequently

Must be able to stand all shift and regularly bend, reach, and lift.

Occasional dusty environment from dry ingredients

Work with multiple food allergens

Uniform:

Must wear white lab coat

Hair net required for all, beard nets required if you have mustache or beard when in production

Latex gloves required in production areas
