Cultivation associate:

Great opportunity: Vermont based cannabis company seeking long term core team members.

OVERVIEW

Cultivation company bringing 40 plus years combined experience in cannabis seeks competent candidates for full time integrated employment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will start as a full time 90-day trial period. If the trial period goes well, it will become a permanent hourly full-time position (40 hours/week with certain seasons that will require extended hours, early morning hours, and/or weekend hours) There is opportunity for rapid advancement and specialization into core team positions.

Employee responsibilities:

-Plant work: including but not limited to transplanting, pruning, installing trellis and stake supports, foliar spraying, learned knowledge of plant identification of varieties and sex identification, understanding of irrigation systems, mixing and feeding compost teas, learning to identify pest and disease, integrated pest management application (IPM), learning to identify when a plant is ready for harvest, harvesting

-Ground work: including but not limited to soil prep, weeding, crop cover application, amendment application, shoveling, raking, plant hole augering, fence/greenhouse/barn construction

Post Harvest: Including but not limited to managing temp and humidity system settings in work space, removing flowers from stems, running an auto trimmer, keeping plant varieties well labeled and separate from one another, hand trimming, packing finished product into final packaging, recording keeping by weight and variety. Personal Protective Equipment may be necessary and provided such as breathing masks/eye protection etc.

Associate/Lead cultivator positions

REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma

Some form of further development(trades school, college degree etc.)

-Skills required:

Ability to read, comprehend and effectively execute a typical Standard Operating Procedure

Ability to focus and work efficiently and produce high quality work

-Teamwork is key: candidate should have a positive attitude and be comfortable receiving constructive feedback in a demanding and challenging work environment

Interest and general knowledge of plants (not cannabis, plants in general)

Capable of running/basic knowledge of running small equipment and tools (i.e. drill, saws, weed whip, back pack sprayer, earth auger etc.)

Able and willing to work for extended periods of time in varying, sometimes uncomfortable situations such as working on your knees or hunched over, working in poor weather conditions etc.

Willing to be flexible and sometimes do a variety of jobs on a particular day or week or in short notice. A real positive/forward thinking pleasant attitude towards day-to-day challenges is highly desirable and necessary for individual and company growth.

Understanding and ability to implement relatively complex systems and processes.

Skills desired:

Extended knowledge of plant care

Strong organizational skills

Ability to self-direct

Experience in quality control

Ability to write standard operating procedures and document processes

Compensation

$25/hour, hours and start times will vary seasonally

State requires FBI criminal background check.
