Accountant

Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for an Accountant in South Jordan, Utah. This role is within the telecom provider industry and will require a candidate who is proficient in accounting functions and can adeptly handle a variety of tasks. Responsibilities: Handling accounting tasks using Great Plains Software and ensuring accurate record-keeping Performing account payable and account receivable functions, ensuring timely payments and receipts Managing fixed assets, accruals, and depreciation to maintain accurate financial records Conducting regular account reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation to ensure financial accuracy Performing bank reconciliations to verify the company's cash position Managing the general ledger and making necessary journal entries Ensuring all accounting functions are performed in compliance with industry standards and company policies. Requirements Proficiency in Great Plains (GPAC) software Minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting role Strong knowledge of accounting functions Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Familiarity with handling Fixed Assets, Accruals, and Depreciation Ability to perform account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations Proficiency in managing general ledger and making journal entries Excellent organizational and multitasking skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to work independently and as part of a team Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel Familiarity with accounting software and databases Strong analytical skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
