Position Summary:Provides high-level maternal fetal sonographic functions (vascular technology, obstetrics/gynecology, echocardiography, neurosonography). Provide sonographic support during intraoperative fetal interventions and fetal surgeries.Position Key Accountabilities:

Perform high-level obstetrical ultrasounds, nuchal translucency studies; fetal doppler studies (umbilical artery & middle cerebral artery), fetal biophysical profile testing, transvaginal sonography, heart disease and cranial blood flow screening.

Scrubs fetal surgical procedures to include, but not limited to Laser for TTTS, IUT, IPT blood transfusion, Open and Fetoscopic NTD repairs, Bladder drainage and shunt placement, thoracentesis and shunt placement, bipolar cord coagulation, radiofrequency ablation, amniotic band release, vein of Galen coiling, interstitial laser ablation, Fetoscopic balloon placement and removal, needle guided balloon puncture, vasa previa laser ablation, EXIT procedure and maintains sterile technique. Provides fetal cardiac monitoring during intraoperative fetal surgical procedures and in office fetal procedures.

Attends continuing education seminars to stay abreast of technological advances.

Provides an initial written and verbal report of ultrasound finding to aid in the diagnostic process to faculty.

Performs fetal echocardiograms under the guidance of pediatric cardiologist to aid in the diagnosis of complex congenital heart defects and rhythm anomalies.

Participates in data collection for research and actively mentor¿s junior sonographers, fetal center staff, Maternal Fetal Medicine staff, Fetal Intervention fellow, and Pediatric Cardiology Fellows.

Maintains a clean workspace and properly cleans/sterilizes equipment between each use and performs basic maintenance on equipment to assure proper working conditions

Performs other duties as assigned.
