Sr. Accountant

Description We are currently seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join a growing manufacturing company based in Stafford, Texas. This is a contract-to-hire position, requiring a full-time onsite commitment, and offers a competitive salary range of $85,000 - $90,000. Starting immediately, the successful candidate will handle important assignments including accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), cost accounting, and inventory management.Responsibilities: Oversee and manage the complete accounting cycle Prepare and post detailed journal entries for a variety of transactions Utilize Apache Axis software to ensure efficient operation of accounting department Analyze financial information and summarize financial status Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls Assist with tax audits and tax returns Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance Support month-end and year-end close process Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.Requirements Must hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent professional certification is highly desirable Extensive understanding and knowledge of the accounting cycle Proven experience with accounting entries, including preparation, recording, and analysis Proficiency in using Apache Axis for web services Excellent analytical skills to interpret complex financial data and information Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with various stakeholders High level of attention to detail and accuracy in preparing financial reports and statements Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team Proficiency in using accounting software and related technologies. Familiarity with financial regulations and standards Proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make well-judged decisions.
