Payroll Specialist

Description We are offering a role in the retail industry, specifically for a Payroll Specialist, based in Southlake, Texas. This role provides a unique opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to the efficient operation of the payroll function, including processing, auditing, and reconciliation tasks. Responsibilities: Responsible for weekly payroll processing, ensuring accurate and timely execution. Conduct regular audits and reconciliations of payroll data for accuracy and compliance with regulations. Prepare, file, and pay all local, state, and federal payroll taxes accurately and timely. Process garnishment, tax levies, and child support orders, and manage agency correspondence. Maintain and audit direct deposit and pay card information for accuracy and security. Prepare and process payments for independent contractors. Document and maintain payroll procedures in collaboration with respective teams. Prepare management and ad-hoc reporting related to payroll. Correspond with employees for any payroll-related inquiries or issues. Utilize Microsoft Excel and Workday software for payroll processing and reporting. Demonstrate strong knowledge of multi-state payroll regulations, tax laws, and employment standards. Adapt to changing organizational and operational needs while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information responsibly. Requirements Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required Prior experience in working with automated payroll systems, particularly Workday, is preferred Comprehensive knowledge of multi-state payroll regulations and compliance standards is essential Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive payroll information with discretion Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective interaction with employees and management Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to accurately process payroll and resolve discrepancies Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial and payroll information Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality results on time Familiarity with payroll tax regulations and reporting requirements Willingness to stay updated with changes in payroll and tax laws Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong organizational skills to maintain payroll files and reports for future references.
