Principal Electrical Engineer-FPGA DevelopmentOur Electrical Engineering team puts the spark into the full hardware development lifecycle, from concept to production. We work closely with designers, cross-functional teams within Dell Technologies and suppliers to make sure electronic designs meet a range of requirements, including schedule, feature set, functionality and quality, as well as industry standards.Join us to do the best work of your career and make a profound social impact as a Principal Electrical Engineer on our Electrical Engineering Team in Round Rock, Texas .What you’ll achieveAs an Principal Electrical Engineer on our Global Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) team, you will be responsible for delivering new Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) technologies and logic solutions that scale across our next-generation enterprise portfolio. You will collaborate with a deeply technical and dynamic team of electrical engineers, as well as cross-functional global teams, to innovate and deliver game-changing products and solutions in our server marketspace.You will:

Design next-generation hardware features in partnership with front end teams and industry partners; drive feature and cost trade-off analysis to provide technical recommendations

Provide design guidance to enable and support global teams

Deliver assigned system interfaces with design and process across extended teams

Prepare documentation for inspection/testing procedures

Design, develop and implement cost effective methods of testing and troubleshooting systems and equipment

8+ years’ industry experience in related role or have equivalent skill; must include product development experience from early concept through production

Advanced understanding of PCBA technologies, appropriate system architectures, Verilog/System Verilog and hardware description language (HDL) coding practices

Proficiency in design, register-transfer level (RTL) design and simulation test benches

Strong fundamentals in both analog and digital design practices with desire to share knowledge and mentor others

Deep knowledge of hardware and software interactions, and ability to apply this understanding to resolve issues

Desirable Requirements

Knowledgeable in x86 and ARM architecture

Experience with the following: Lattice/Xilinx/Altera tool suites, Verilog verification tools (Modelsim/QuestaSim), scripting languages (Python/Batch), Git repository management
