Insurance Verification coordinator with Front Desk Experience

I am interviewing for a bilingual (Spanish & English), a plus, Highly qualified insurance verification coordinator for an Endocrinology private practice . 1631 North Loop West, Suite 625 Houston Tx 77008. We are seeking a detail-oriented individual to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical billing, and terminology to assist in the verification benefits department as well as Front Desk and Check out departments. Responsibilities:

- Contact patients regarding outstanding balances and payment arrangements

- Review and analyze medical records for accurate billing

- Utilize ICD-10, DRG, and ICD-9 coding systems for billing purposes

- Maintain patient accounts and update billing information

- Work closely with medical office staff to resolve billing discrepancies

- Negotiate payment plans with patients based on financial situations

Experience: Min.2 years

- Proficiency in medical coding, including ICD-10 and ICD-9 codes

- Familiarity with DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) coding

- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and systems

- Experience in medical billing and collections and insurance verification

- Ability to navigate through various medical office software platforms

Key Responsibilities:

-Answer incoming phone calls during business hours, and return missed calls

-Screen new patient inquiries and collect initial intake details

-Enter new patient information into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system

-Collect and input initial insurance information for verification, preauthorization and referrals

-Familiar with all types of insurance (PPO, HMO, (IPAs,POS, indemnities, Medicare, Medicaid and more.

-Track preauthorization requests and follow up as needed

-Schedule patient appointments and manage the treatment calendar

-Coordinate with pharmacies to ensure timely medication delivery

-Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all activities

Qualifications:

-High school diploma or GED required

-Strong communication and organizational skills

-Comfortable working independently in a remote setting

-Basic computer skills

-Prior experience with EHR systems and/or working in a medical setting
