POSITION PROFILEThe Senior Accountant develops and implements systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting financial information; ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions.JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThis list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.· Assist the Controller or VP of Finance and Operations review revenue transactions deferral allocations monthly.· Responsible for all payroll accounting transactions and accruals including reconciliations.· Ensure completeness and accuracy of commissions.· Responsible for review and reporting of sales tax including new item setup.· Create monthly reports for the VP of Finance and Operations, executive management and other stakeholders. 2 marcom.com· Maintain Fixed Asset records including monthly roll-forward, depreciation schedules, disposals, and additions.· Preserve all ROU assets and corresponding schedules.· Collaborate with the AR team to update the bad debt calculation as needed.· Reconcile and amortization prepaid accounts· Generate and document advanced intercompany entries as needed.· Own monthly reclassification entries for long term assets and liabilities.· Work with operations and sales as needed to ensure processes are followed and all elements are captured in the correct accounting period.· Support with month-end variance analysis and financial statement schedules.· Handle miscellaneous month-end close responsibilities and balance sheet reconciliations as assigned.· Aid with annual audit preparations.· Other ad hoc projects as deemed necessary.QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience and Certifications)Typically Requires:· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance· MBA is preferable· CPA credentials· Advanced knowledge of tax laws, GAAP and IFRSKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES· Strong experience with Microsoft Excel (including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables), NetSuite, Concur and Salesforce· Superb familiarity with financial accounting statements· Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close processWORKING CONDITIONS, MENTAL AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS· Typically works in an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation, and a normal range of temperature and noise level· Work assignments are diversified. Interpret, comprehend and apply complex material, data and instruction – prepare, provide and convey diversified information· Minimal physical effort required. Work is mostly sedentary but does require walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting or carrying objects that typically with less than 10 lbs. (e.g., papers, books, files and small parts, etc.).
