To achieve this mission, HPARD is seeking a Recreation Assistant to join its Recreation and Wellness Division – Youth Tennis.The Potential Candidate will:

Coordinate and monitor coaching beginners/Intermediate groups and advanced Youth Tennis Groups. Tennis team events must coordinate.

Provide friendly customer service in person, by phone and when handling parents in outreach campaigns for Youth Tennis.

Ensure safety is always enforcing with Youth Tennis clinics, summer camps, for youth and coaches’ rules and regulations with participants for the general public, as well as reporting any unsafe conditions to the supervisor.

May resolve problems and counsel participants.

Assist with center preparation for programs and activities.

Manage all HPARD Youth Tennis equipment and organized, equipment and general maintenance when needed for the HPARD Youth Tennis.

Must be a positive role model, promoting non-violent actions, and interacting positively with Parents public and partners as well as strong community outreach presents.

Responsible for opening and closing facilities I needed.

Must be able and willing to work evenings, weekends and Holidays as needed.

WORKING CONDITIONSThe position occasionally requires stooping or bending. Occasional very light lifting, such as three or four reams of papers or books (up to 20 pounds or an equivalent weight) may be required. There are routine discomforts from exposure to moderate heat, cold, moisture/wetness and unpleasant air conditions. The position may involve routine exposure to soiled materials and light chemical substances such as cleaning solutions.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSEDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTSRequires a high school diploma or a GED. May require a valid Texas driver's license and compliance with the City of Houston's policy on driving.EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSThree months of related experience are required. LICENSE REQUIREMENTSNone PREFERENCESPREFERENCESPreference will be given to applicants with the following:

Experience with instructing tennis and worked with youth In the tennis community

Passionate about Preference will be given to applicants with the following working with Youth Tennis players.

USTA safe play

Learn tennis at community PARK.
