The supervisor is accountable for short-term supply and demand decisions, ensuring that all system inputs, raw materials, and resources are available on time and deployed effectively to meet customer expectations. This person also works closely with sales support and production teams to manage incoming orders and inventories to plan materials and capacity to meet on time delivery performance to customer expectations. Acts as a key member of the plant leadership team to ensure all the required results for key initiatives are achieved.Specific Responsibility:

Responsible for the Master Production Schedule and tracking and monitoring the supply plan conversion to actual production output. Utilizes MRP reports to review new order requirements and stock availability.

Leads daily production order scheduling and material resource planning functions. Works closely with Manufacturing and other site personnel to ensure information and accurate production plans are established and executed.

Reviews open work orders to ensure execution to plan. Recommends necessary overtime, material or work center substitutions as required to meet on time delivery to promise dates. Works closely with buyers to ensure material availability.

Administers strategies meant to support organizational business objectives, support growth and optimize organizational inventory levels.

Collaborate with management to ensure supply and inventory goals align with their objectives, processes and procedures, identifying and implementing efficiencies and continuous improvement resolutions for supply and inventory issues.

Own, create and improve a maintainable accurate inventory system that balances production capacities, business risk and cost. Prepares analyses forecasting demand or predicting inventory needs. Proactively manages shortage or excess inventory for facility

Provides analysis to support recommendations for capacity intervals, work center hierarchies and strategies, lot sizing, safety stocks, and other master data related to material masters and routers as required.

Develop standardized work procedures by designing and/or documenting the best work sequence for each process.

Executes to key performance indicators, including on-time delivery, capacity utilization, and inventory turns.

Responsible for employee recruitment and development, assessing and providing training needs as appropriate of the Production Planning staff. Provides motivation, coaching and direction to all direct reports to ensure they reach their full potential. Conducts performance reviews, setting objectives in line with the Global Production Planning Manager and the Manufacturing strategy and goals. Gives appropriate feedback on performance and deals with any performance related issues with the assistance of HR.

Required Minimum Qualifications:Education: HS Diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree or APICS certification desiredSkills and Experience

A minimum of 7 years in production planning for a medium to high volume job shop.

Ability to embrace diversity of people with disparate opinions and agendas, focusing team on results while balancing trade-offs of different stakeholders.

Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills related to data gathering, quantitative and qualitative analysis, logic and/or math-based analysis are required.

The complexity of this job requires the ability to resolve problems that may be either of a technical or of a logistical nature. Demonstrated skills related to logic and/or math-based analysis are required.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required. This role requires the ability to facilitate change and collaborate with a wide spectrum of personnel in varying disciplines and backgrounds.

This position requires the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast paced and dynamically changing environment.

A solid knowledge of SAP, master data, and capacity planning.
