SummaryThe primary purpose of the Director, Clinical Strategic Infrastructure Project position is responsible for developing strategies that enable the institutions clinical operations to effectively use its physical space and prepare for future infrastructure needs. This role is key to the execution and implementation of the Master Facility Framework which governs the development of new campuses / buildings and the improvement of existing locations and operations. This role also leads Clinical Operations, Strategic / Facilities Infrastructure efforts including Departmental, Divisional, and Institutional Plans for clinical spaces, clinical support services, and operational infrastructure needs.Key FunctionsClinical Capital Portfolio ManagementServe as lead in the development of executive summaries, business plans, presentations, and other project related documents. Manages context, storage, revisions, and dissemination of documents in an organized fashion. Maintains enterprise dashboard for projects highlighting relevant information, key dates and milestones, budgets, etc.Serves on selection committees for large scale capital projects. Serves as an Operations Subject Matter Expert that encourages alignment between resource allocation and design specifications on projects. Attend project meetings to provide input related to project timeline compression opportunities, scope and cost reduction methods, and operational impacts. Collaborate with Facilities SMEs to review and update Owners Design Guidelines and specifications for projects to align with clinical requirements.Review facility condition assessment documents and collaborate with Facilities leaders to assess aging infrastructure and determine funding necessary to maintain clinical operations in alignment with strategic planning. Prepare project submission packets which include: business plans, financial analysis, scope or work, KPUs , cost, and timelines for clinical and clinical related projects.Collaborate with enterprise stakeholders to prepare post-occupancy analysis for capital projects which include patient volumes, staffing model, operational expenses, financial modeling, and project performance.Communication and Presentation SkillsPrepares presentations and presents information clearly in standalone documents, and when actively presenting. Communicates at many levels of detail, and for a wide range of audiences and purposes. Examples include soliciting leadership approval for proposed strategic plans and then sharing approved strategies across the institution.Present project updates, information for decision making, potential risks to operations, and other relevant information to leadership teams on a regular basis.Project ManagementCoordinates with other clinical and facilities leaders as necessary in order to support the multidisciplinary mission of UTMDACC and provide an efficient communication channel for the coordination of long-range planning and problem resolution. Serves on various institutional committees to provide liaison and consultation on Clinical Infrastructure strategies.Works with design & construction professionals on design requirements, value engineering options along with approval for deviations to MDACC owner's design guidelines.Supervises available personnel in the coordination of project communications. Provides leadership and direction to Clinical teams to ensure sustainability and resiliency are incorporated into projects.EDUCATIONRequired: Bachelor's degree.Preferred: Master's degree.LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONRequired: nonePreferred: Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.). State of Texas or Registered Architect, State of Texas.EXPERIENCERequired: Ten years experience in facilities project management of healthcare, academic, and/or research facilities to include three years supervisory/management experience.
