We are looking for an experienced Cabling/Low Voltage Technician for a full-time role supporting a large client in the Dallas Fort Worth Texas market. As a Cabling/Low Voltage Technician, you will work within an existing team assisting a large client with low voltage installations, installation of coax and fiber optic networks for both residential and business customers. You’ll be engaging with various management team members from General Contractors (GC’s) building out new facilities, MDU Management Companies who oversee the service within existing infrastructure building, and you’ll also work with storefront owners upgrading cable plant or running new fiber lines for increased capacity

Job Responsibilities

The role will include:

· Safely installing and troubleshooting low voltage and fiber optic cable plant, basic telecom networks, coax cable, and equipment within commercial and residential facilities.

· Strong understanding of basic telecommunication best practices.

· Reading blueprints and working closely with General Contractors (GC’s), MDU Facility Manager, and other external end users.

· Installation of equipment, ancillary items such as racks, labeling, and raceways.

· Performing testing and turnup of low voltage networks, DAS or WAP systems.

· Must be able to travel throughout the Dallas Fort-Worth Area.

· Assist team members with providing bid estimation support for specialty requests from our client such as site walks, surveys, and pre-bid inspections.

· Work well individually and within the team

· Comfortable working at heights (i.e. scissor lifts, ladders, or on building rooftops)

· Must be able to provide closeout documentation. Meaning you must be able to use a laptop/PC to upload pre and post photos, input job numbers into the system, and write notes to be submitted to our local PM for review and upload.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. (Primarily Work and Excel)

· Will report to local PM and Operations Managers.

· Able to troubleshoot activities on site for coax cable plant and fiber optics.

Qualifications

Requirements:

· High School Diploma is required

· Associates' Degree or Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred

· Cable Technician or Fiber Optic Certification will be strongly preferred or equivalent Field Experience

· Familiarity with Telecom installation best practices

· Willing to be trained and receive OSHA or other Safety Certifications

· Familiar with Coax and Fiber Optic networks, installation, and testing

· Strong background with industry terms and equipment.

. Looking for a level 3 Tech

. Must have a strong Fiber Optic splicing background and be able to use both a mechanical and fusion slicing machine proficiently without supervision.

· Must have valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.

· Ability to climb ladders and work at heights

· Company vehicle will be provided.

· Ability to lift up to 75lbs

· Able to use industry test gear for installation of Coax and Fiber Optic Cable.

. Experience installing CCTV equipment and server equipment a plus

. Experience installing Access Control Systems a plus

. Building a rack system in a server telecom room a plus

Candidates selected for this opportunity must be able to pass a drug test, background check, reference check, and have an acceptable driving record with valid driver’s license.
