Job Description: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced VRF/Refrigerant Piping and Duct Superintendent to join our team. The ideal candidate will not only possess a strong background in sheet metal with a good understanding of piping systems but will also exhibit leadership qualities as a Servant Leader. The role requires effective communication, accountability, and the ability to nurture and develop team members.
Responsibilities:
Interpret specifications, blueprints, submittals, and job orders for project understanding.
Assemble procurement orders for materials, equipment, and tools needed at the project commencement.
Establish and adjust work sequences to meet construction schedules, considering equipment capacities and personnel capabilities.
Evaluate the abilities of Foremen and workers to ensure optimal job placement.
Study schedules and estimate man-hour requirements for project completion.
Analyze and resolve work problems efficiently.
Maintain accurate time records.
Make cost estimates for contracts when necessary.
Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations.
Conduct timely performance appraisals for all assigned workers.
Follow HR procedures for hiring, terminations, and disciplinary actions.
Understand and apply Lean principles and processes.
Determine project needs in collaboration with various stakeholders.
Set and track deadlines, reporting on progress regularly.
Manage equipment and order materials as required.
Provide feedback to subcontractors.
Handle job site emergencies and conflicts.
Coordinate with construction human resources personnel.
Requirements:
Strong background in sheet metal with understanding of piping systems.
Ability to read and understand construction plans.
Proficient in taking off materials from plans and scheduling work accordingly.
Supervisory experience, capable of managing 5 to 20+ team members.
Preferably bilingual but not mandatory for effective communication.
Computer skills including crafting professional correspondence, basic Excel, and Microsoft Word.
Salary & Benefits:
$75 - 95,000 salary with bonuses.
